Great Kettle
The kettle heats water quickly and it seems to be durable, EXCEPT the mesh filter. Mine tore after about 6 months. I have never removed it to clean it so it was just from using the kettle. Unfortunately you can't buy replacement filters so I would have to buy a whole new kettle, which seems strange because the kettle itself works great. The kettle should come with 3-4 filters. Buyer beware of this one issue.

Easy fix for kettle not shutting off
Had it for a few years. It stopped shutting off automatically, kind of a fire hazard? Anyway, I found that by removing all screws, separating the handle, and the switch from the heating element, the white silicone grease was dried up so the sensor couldn't switch off. I cleaned it off with isopropyl alcohol, and applied new white silicone grease and it works now! You can use computer CPU heat sink grease also.

Great kettle
I have had this kettle for a really long time but it's time to replace it. The window that shows water levels is starting to leak. I have noticed a very fine crack along one side. Too bad because it works just fine otherwise.

I had this kettle (in black) for years. Only recently did it breakdown. The light that attaches to the switch broke and can't be repaired. Will buy a new one.
